Diisun lepäiltyä muutaman päivän, lähdettiin kokeilemaan koiven kestävyyttä hihnalenkille kaupunkiin. Perinteinen lemmikkien joulusiunaus järjestettiin illalla Senaatintorilla, tuomiokirkon portailla. Pelastuskoirat, avustajakoirat ja virkakoirat olivat erityisesti esillä tilaisuudessa.
Koska sää oli hurja, taivaalta tuli jalkarättejä, jätin auton Itäkeskuksen parkkihalliin ja matkasimme siitä metrolla keskustaan ja kävellen Tuomiokirkolle. Hyvä kaupunkireissu koirille samalla. Seuranamme kulkivat Ana ja Sissi-PON.
Tilaisuus oli tunnelmallinen ja mukava, lämminhenkinen hurjasta säästä huolimatta. Diisu käyttäytyi hyvin koko reissun ajan. Tuomiokirkolle saapuessamme se tosin oli "seissyt päällään" niin ahkerasti (hajujen perässä) että otsatukka oli muurautunut umpeen. Ehdimme jutella Lindan kanssa pitkän tovin ennen kuin Diisu (ilmeisesti hajusta) äkkäsi, että edessä seisoi Lindan lisäksi Jeppe-koira. .-D
The traditional Christmas blessing of pets was arranged at the Dom square this evening, in the centre of Helsinki. It was snowing big heavy flakes and the wind was blowing strongly. It was a horrible weather to drive! So I left my car in eastern Helsinki at a shopping mall and took the subway to the centre with Diesel. It was good training for him, and after being in rest for a couple of days because of limping a rear foot he needed to be walked on leash anyway.
What a nice happening it was again! The working dogs such as guide dogs, SAR dogs, police dogs etc are special guests in the event. Diesel behaved very well all the time. It was snowing so much and he was smelling the ground so much before the start of the ceremony that his forehead was tightly covered with snow, blocking the view complitely. I talked with a friend several minutes before Diesel (by the smell?) noticed there was also a dog standing before us. :-D
