Tänään olin töissä IPOR-kokeessa ja Diesel sai reissata päivän mukana. Tottelevaisuuskokeitten ajan se odotteli yksin autossa, koska Miklos oli töissä häiriö- ja nollakoirana. Kettiksiä se pääsi katselemaan parin koiran suoritusten ajaksi. Ja kyllä se katsoikin! Ja hötkyili ja hönki ja olisi halunnut itse tekemään. :-D
Maaston ajan Diesel harjoitteli autossa rauhassa odottelua. Siinä se tarvitsee paljon harjoitusta.

Kotimatkalla kävin ensin polkaisemassa Mikolle pitkän jäljen ja sitten Dieselille lyhyemmän, joka ajettiin heti, se oli suora myötätuuleen, ja nameja oli runsaasti jäljen päällä, ei kuitenkaan joka askeleella. Hyvin meni. Jäljen nosto tehtiin taas pitemmältä pätkältä eli käveltiin reippaasti eteenpäin ja koira sai törmätä jälkeen, joka tuli oikealta ja jatkui suoraan eteenpäin. Tosi hyvin reagoi jälkeen. Nyt oli meno vähän rauhallisempaa kuin aikaisemmat rynnistykset.
Lopun "esineellä" maahanmeno sujui nyt todella hyvin!

Iltapissillä tapahtui jotakin merkittävää: Miklos lähti juoksemaan ja rähjäämään houkutellen Dieselin mukaansa. Se oikein todistetusti heilutti Dieselille kaksi kertaa häntäänsä. Kah, sehän alkaa lämmetä!! Sitten se kyllä heti perään nosti hännän kohti taivasta ja oli oma vakava itsensä.

Illalla Diesel ja T vihdoin löysivät toisensa, kun T ensin opetti Dieselin kerjäämään pöydästä (ei kuulemma tiennyt että se ei vielä ollut tajunnut sitä, hitto!) ja sitten Diesel makaili T:n jaloissa oikein antaumuksella, ja myöhemmin tunki lelua T:n syliin. Ensin ne leikki vähän riepotusta, ja myöhemmin illalla oltiin sitten päästy jo reippaaseen painiin (ukko selällään lattialla, koira päällä ja lelu siinä välissä, ja hirveät ääniefektit, lähinnä ukosta). Nyt ne varmaan uskaltaa jo jättää keskenään huomenna kun lähden Ankkarockiin. Nyt ehkä Diesel ei lähde Korsoon asti perääni. ;-)

Pitkän päivän päätteeksi Diesel valkkasi tyynyn ja uni tuli.

Today we arranged an IPOR area search trial. In the morning I participated in obedience trial with Miklos as distraction dog; meanwhile Diesel trained waiting in the car alone. Then, during dexterity trials Diesel got to come and watch other dogs do it. And indeed he watched! And barked and wanted to go and do it also! :-)

During search part of the trial Diesel again trained waiting in the car with Miklos. It is an essential part of being a SAR-dog: the ability to wait peacefully and rest when there is a chance to do it. Diesel still has a lot of work to do in training it! ;-)

On the way home I made a stop by the fields to do a tracking exercise for both boys. First I laid the long track for Miklos, and then while it "aged" I did a shorter track for Diesel.
Diesel got to find the track all by himself again, I just walked in a good pace with him and he bumped into the track, reacted to it immediately and started tracking. Now there was more food on the track again, but not on every step. Diesel did a good job. He was still rushing, but not as much as previously. :-) The wind was coming from behind again. He also did a very good lie-down by the item in the end of the track.

At home outside something significant happened. Miklos felt a little wild ;-D and started running, barking, and lured Diesel to run with him. He even waved his tail to Diesel, TWICE. Now that is something!! Right afterwards his tail pointed up to sky again, and he was back to his normal, serious self again. But he IS beginning to like Diesel, slowly!

In the evening Diesel finally hit it with my boyfriend. First Mr T taught him to beg from the table (he honestly did not know he had not realized it yet! Darn it!) and then Diesel spent a good while lying at his feet. Later on Diesel warmed him up by bringing a toy and placing it on T's lap. They started playing with the toy, and in the end of the night they were rolling on the floor, wrestling, the man, the dog, and the toy, with great sound effects (produced mainly by the man by the way).
I have to say, now I feel much much better about tomorrow when I'll be all day away and Mr T must take the dogs out etc. :-D

It was a long day, and in the end of it Diesel got himself a pillow and fell asleep.
