Today's activities included a walk in town with Maiju and PON dogs Diesel and Heddi, obedience class, Helsinki SAR dog group's meeting and Christmas party.

It is rather dim and wet weather this time of the year - always dark and mostly raining. It takes lots of self-discipline to go for long walks in this weather so getting company is very much appreciated. Long walk with Maiju and Heddi, catching up with latest news in the PON scene, made me totally forget about the crappy weather. :-)

In the obedience class we focused in "stand from heeling" this week with Diesel. I also showed the progress in training of the fetch (retrieval) and got advice how to proceed. The best thing however was Diesel's eagerness to do obedience, I think it was super. He tried so hard to do the best heeling work he can, to do it even more and even better. :-)
From to obedience class we hurried directly to the meeting where we enjoyed lots of yummy Christmas party treats while going through the agenda.

After the meeting we had a little Christmas party fun. As the team leader I stayed in a car sitting with a pen and a paper and a radio phone while my team entered a building. The team members were blind-folded and told to search the house for things that do not belong there, using the rest of their senses, and they were to report me all the findings and I should drawn a map of the building and mark up all the findings in the map - by the information I got over the radio phone. What a nice exercise!
Soon they reported me such findings as a person lying on a bed, Christmas drinks on a shelf, the scent of perfume in one room, Christmas decorations hanging at a door, and in the end they found (and recognized) a Santa Claus sitting on a chair in the middle of the room! :-D
