Diisulta otettiin verikoe 10.1. Ilmeisesti koska lääkäri tuli kotikäynnille, Diesel katsoi oikeudekseen olla oma riehakas ja malttamaton itsensä, ja tämä yritys päätyi painintaan ja kahteen hyvin punaiseen koiran etujalkaan ja eläinlääkärin käteen. Punaisia tippoja oli myös siellä täällä lattialla. Mutta myös putkeen saatiin verta. :-)

Seuraavalla viikolla tuli kilpirauhasarvoista T4 ja TSH-tulokset (ok), ja tieto, että osa näytteistä oli mennyt pahaksi ja TgA:ta ei saatu tehtyä. Rabiesvasta-ainetestiin sentään riitti kelpo näyte.

Seuraavalla viikolla käytiin lääkärin vastaanotolla uudelleen verenimussa, ja tällä kertaa Diisu ensin harjoitteli rauhassa odottelua odotushuoneessa, peräti viiden kopassaan olevan kissan tuijottaessa sitä eri suunnista. Kissat oli kuin tennisottelussa kun kaikki herkeämättä tarkkailivat Diisun liikkeitä päät samaan tahtiin puolelta toiselle kääntyen. :-D
Lääkärin vastaanottohuoneessa olikin sitten oikein rauhallisesti ja hyvin käyttäytyvä Diesel, joka istui pöydällä kiltisti paikoillaan eikä yhtään hötkyillyt.

Viime viikolla tuli tieto että rabies-vasta-aineet on ok, ja tänään sitten tuli se eniten jännitetty tieto eli Diesel on TgA-negatiivinen. Diisulta on otettu kilpirauhasarvot (T4, TSH ja TgA) jo kerran viime keväänä, mutta silloin se oli vasta hieman yli vuoden vanha eli hyvin nuori, joten nyt sen täytettyä 2 vuotta otettiin pätevämmät tulokset.

Diesel has been to blood tests the past couple of weeks. Jan 10th a vet came to Mikkonens for a house-call, and Diesel clearly feels so much at home there that he behaved like he does, meaning wildly and he didn't have the time or patience to stay still long enough. It was quite a wrestle and it ended up with Diesel's front feet all red, the vet's hands all red, and red drops across the floor. But there was some blood in the tubes also!
Next week we got the news that T4 and TSH values are ok, but part of the sample had gone bad and they could not do the TgA.

So we needed to take another blood sample - this time I took Diesel to the vet's practise. First we waited a while in the waiting room with Diesel and FIVE cats. The cats were in their travelling boxes and continuously staring at Diesel, from all directions. It was like in a tennis match, five cats' heads moving synchronized when they followed Diesel's every move.
Surprisingly, Diesel acted very well at the vet's office - he sat on the table still and calmly during the blood test. Good boy!

Last week I got the news that Diesel has rabies antobodies so he can travel to Sweden and Norway. Today I got the news that he is TgA-negative, great! He has been tested for the thyroid values already last spring but he was so young that now that he is 2 years old it was time to get new valid results.
